Will Tao, as part of the CBABC's Equality and Diversity Committee, helped organize a Diversity on the Bench panel on June 6, 2018. The event had over 100 attendees including the Chief Justice  of the  B.C. Supreme and the Chief Justice of the B. C. Provincial Court.

Wong, 2016 BCCA 416 to the Supreme Court of Canada to seek clarification in the law on the test to withdraw a guilty plea for an accused who was not properly informed of consequences flowing from that plea - like deportation. Erin Roth moderated and spoke on a panel at the Canadian Bar Association National Immigration Conference in Ottawa, April 2018 The panel addressed best practices for preparing witnesses to give testimony before the Refugee Protection Division. Peter Edelmann moderated a panel on criminal inadmissibility and spoke about the changes to the pardon and record suspension process.
