USA Immigration Matters
Immigration status and admissibility concerns facing foreign nationals in Canada often also have implications on eligibility for certain kinds of visas required to live, work or travel in the United States. Anyone, including Canadian citizens, who is charged or convicted of a crime in Canada is likely to face added scrutiny and/or legal barriers to entering the United States.
Dual-licensed lawyers in our office understand these concerns, and we are able to provide holistic advice and representation to individuals who want to preserve their ability to travel in both directions across the Canada-US border.
We assist individuals in assessing whether they are legally admissible to the United States, especially regarding criminal charges and/or convictions, and past immigration issues in the United States or elsewhere. We also assist in filing applications for waivers of inadmissibility (Form I-601) to the United States.
